Advanced Dry Eye Treatment
Stem Cell Therapy for Corneal Surface Damage in Katy, TX
For chronic damage to the surface of the cornea, Carousel Eyecare offers regenerative membrane therapy. A stem cell / amniotic membrane is placed directly on the cornea to deliver regenerative cells and growth factors that heal and rebuild damaged tissue — addressing long-standing surface damage at its source.

How regenerative membrane therapy works
When the superficial layer of the cornea suffers chronic damage from severe or long-standing dry eye, the surface can struggle to heal on its own. A regenerative membrane — rich in the components found in amniotic tissue, including growth factors and specialized cells — is placed onto the cornea.
The membrane acts as a biological bandage and a source of healing signals. It reduces inflammation and scarring while encouraging the cornea's own cells to regenerate a smooth, healthy surface.
Who this helps
This therapy is reserved for patients with significant, chronic corneal surface damage that has not resolved with other treatments — for example, persistent surface breakdown related to severe dry eye disease. It is one part of a broader plan aimed at both healing existing damage and preventing it from returning.
What to expect
Application is performed in-office and is designed to be comfortable. Because every case of chronic surface damage is different, Dr. Wells evaluates the extent of the damage and combines regenerative therapy with the treatments needed to control the underlying dry eye. Your consultation determines whether this approach is right for you.
